The Lark Ascending – In conversation

Writer and broadcaster Andrew Green looks at the background to the composition of The Lark Ascending and talks to guests about the real-life skylark. What is revealed when larksong is slowed down? What threats are posed to the bird’s wellbeing in the modern world? All this, plus poetry and a range of music to celebrate this magical bird.

Guests include:

Jennifer Pike Violinist with three Lark Ascending recordings to her name.

Cheryl Tipp The British Library’s Curator of Wildlife & Environmental Sounds.

Paul Donald Author of The Skylark, a guide to everything you might want to know about larks.

This is an hour-long online event which will be broadcast on Bristol Beacon’s YouTube channel on Sunday 6 December at 6pm
