Haydn Symphony No.83 ‘The Hen’
A concert of music inspired by nature and the Autumn season, featuring the nation’s favourite orchestral work, Vaughan Williams’ beautiful piece for orchestra and solo violin, The Lark Ascending. Written 100 years ago in the aftermath of the First World War, the piece is uplifting and unmistakably English. The solo violin part will be performed by the Bristol Ensemble’s founder and leader, Roger Huckle.
The programme will also include music by Delius, Elgar’s timeless masterpiece Serenade for Strings, and the entertaining ‘The Hen’ Symphony by Haydn.
