Carl Orff ’s Carmina Burana sets 24 poems from the medieval collection of texts in Latin and High German and Old French. The work moves around the Wheel of Fortune and colourfully describes the joys and sorrows of living life to the full.
The first half of the concert features choral songs by Chilcott, Ives, Lauridsen, Barber and Whitacre.
The choir will be accompanied by two pianos played by George Bevan and Maria Angel Garcia, with percussionists from Bristol Ensemble, conducted by Bath Choral Society’s Music Director Katrine Reimers.
