Emil Huckle-Kleve

Emil Huckle-Kleve gained his degree at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where he studied with professors Remus Azoitie and Hu Kun, and then studied at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, Norway, where he has lessons with the institute’s director Stephan Barratt-Due. 

At RAM, he won the Mica Comberti prize for solo Bach and was a finalist in their concerto competition. He was also selected to play in master classes to such prominent artists and teachers as Maxim Vengerov, James Ehnes, Tasmin Little, Alexander Markov, Alexander Pavlovich, Thomas Brandis, Natalia Lomeiko and Mayumi Fujikawa. 

Early achievements include winning both Bristol Rotary Young Musician of the Year and Bath Young Musician of the Year in 2005 as well as reaching the semi-final of the strings in the BBC Young Musician of the Year in the same year. He also took part in the BBC competition ‘Classical Star’ where he reached the last eighteen instrumentalists.
