A Summer Music Festival Concert with choir, organ and orchestra, directed by Grammy Award winning conductor, David Hill, part of a music festival being held at Peterborough Cathedral from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th June 2017 to celebrate the return of the Cathedral organ, now at concert pitch.
The programme for choir, organ and orchestra includes Poulenc’s Organ Concerto and Barber’s Toccata Festiva, alongside a new commissioned work by Toby Young, and music by Parry and Fauré.
The concert will be directed by Grammy Award winning conductor, David Hill. David is Visiting Professor of Choral Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music, Musical Director of The Bach Choir and Chief Conductor of the BBC Singers. He has been a keen supporter of the decision to re-pitch the Cathedral’s organ and appears in the first instalment of the video series Pipewatch.
